In Almere Duin I organised a workshop in which we invented modern myths about the dune landscape together. On a large board, participants filled in a story step by step: Once upon a time… who wants… but… so… And in the end…
At the same time we made ink from what grows in the dunes: blackberries, nettles, yellow flowers and leaves. On a hot plate on the terrace the plants were boiled down into pigment. With that ink, participants drew the characters and landscapes from their stories. Every plant gave a different colour, from soft yellow to deep purple.
